Last week the sound of the trumpet could be heard all over the hospital. Dr. Klaus was standing on the roof playing the hymn “Now Thank We All Our God”. The reason? The new solar panels next to him. They provide energy for the OB ward, labor room and the new baby nursery. It has been over a year of planning, applying for funds, finding a good company to work with, digging, constructing, wiring etc. Now we can enjoy having another source of energy that helps to deal with the frequent power cuts. After the final work was done, we celebrated with a lunch program for the entire staff. It is wonderful to see how everyone is encouraged by the possibilities the solar system offers.
